ELMWOOD PARK, NJ - Hasbrouck Heights girls basketball team came back from a halftime tie to dominate the second half against host Elmwood Park and win the Elmwood Park Girls' Holiday Hoops Tournament, 45-32, Monday afternoon.

The Lady Aviators got on the scoreboard first behind a basket from junior Veronica Legaspi, with Gabi Soli and Paige McGuire adding one each, and a three-pointer from Devon Sonzogni. They held a 9-5 at the end of the first.

Elmwood Park chipped away at the lead before the scoring of Myomari Duran and Jaylene Ferrer. Freshman Samantha Lahullier added four points for Hasbrouck Heights, but the Lady Crusaders tied the game at 17 with a three-point buzzer beater from Ferrer to head into halftime.

Hasbrouck Heights went on a 9-0 scoring run to open the third and finished the quarter with a 32-24 lead. The Lady Aviators would put the game away in the fourth behind the scoring of Sonzogni's two three-pointers, McGuire's one three-pointer, three points from Solis and one from Legaspi.
