PARAMUS, NJ -  A 19-4 second quarter was the difference as Paramus defeated Hasbrouck Heights, 53-38, in a Bergen County Invitational Tournament girls opening round game Saturday in Paramus.  

The two teams were tied after the first quarter at 11-11 before the Spartans went on their run, led by eight points from Gianna McDermott, who finished the day with a game high 20 points.  Katie Koutros had five of her nine for the Spartans.

Devon Sonzogni hit five three pointers en route to a 20-point effort for the Aviators in defeat.  Paige McGuire added 14 for Hasbrouck Heights.
