ROBBINSVILLE, NJ - Wood-Ridge sophomore midfielder Seydou Camara was named First Team All Group I by NJ Advance Media and NJ.Com, it was announced Friday.

"Seydou is truly a raw talent." said Wood-Ridge coach Alberico DePierro. " His ball control, his ability to leave defenders going the wrong direction, his passing accuracy, and his clinical finishing give him the attributes to truly become a special player. Since he is only a sophomore, Seydou has the opportunity to truly leave his mark on the high school soccer scene, especially if he sharpens his technical skills, if he learns how to now use his talent to make his teammates around him better, and if he is able to mature every aspect of his game. He can be quite special and this recognition is a glimpse of it. This needs to be simply a launching pad for his final two seasons and it also means I will expect even more from him.

DePierro spoke about the impact that having players named All Group 1 can have on a program.

"To now have two years in a row a player be named All-Group 1 is another recruiting tool for our program but also an acknowledgment that positive things are being done at Wood-Ridge soccer," DePierro stated. "Then, when you realize you have a player recognized by as a first team All-Group 1 player, it is something the entire program can boast and take pride in. Another great achievement for our program for sure."
