RAMSEY, NJ - Hasbrouck Heights’ Evan Morrow won the 1600 meters and finished a very narrow second in 3200 meters to lead the Aviators efforts at the John Gallione Bergen County Boys Freshman Championships held at Ramsey High School on Wednesday.
After a three second lead in 1600, Morrow lost by .2 seconds to Leonia’s Jack Schuller in the 3200.
Jake Diaz jumped 18 feet in the long jump to come in third, while Hunter Freschi, who was shuttling back and forth between javelin and pole vault captured third in the javelin and sixth in the pole vault.
Massimo Vignola captured fourth in the shot put.
Several runners competing in their final meet of the season, recorded personal best in their final races until next spring.
