BOONE, NC - Sophomore Matt Dallara, a 2018 graduate of Hasbrouck Heights High School, captured second place in the Southern Conference Wrestling championships on Sunday in Boone, NC, on the campus of Appalachian State University.

Dallara, the number two seed in the 157 pound weight class, captured his opening match of the tournament, defeating Christian Trimble of Gardner-Webb via a major decision.  He then advanced to defeated Tyler Shilson of Chattanooga, by a 9-5 score, setting him up for a showdown with top-seeded Matt Zovistoski of Appalachian State.

Zovistoski prevailed 12-5, capturing not only the league title, but a bid to the NCAA championships.  Dallara will now have to wait until March 10 to find out if he qualified for one of the five open spots in the NCAA championship.
