PHILADELPHIA, PA. - NCAA wrestling season has started, and fans of Hasbrouck Heights High School wrestling are seeing familiar results from two Aviator alumni, Sean and Mickey O’Malley.
Sean, a red-shirt sophomore, is 6-3 on the season, wrestling in the 285 pound weight class. He leads the Dragons with six wins, and finished fourth in the Keystone Classic earlier this season. He is 2-1 in dual meets, having dropped a 3-0 decision to 15th ranked Colton McKiernan of South Illinois University - Evansville, before scoring a sudden victory over Chase Logan of West Liberty (3-1) and a 2-1 decision over Auston Harris of fourth-ranked Oklahoma State.
Mickey, a red-shirt freshman, moved into the Wrestlestat rankings this week, debuting at #29. He finished third in the Keystone Classic, recording a pinfall win over Neil Antraassian of Penn and recording a medical forfeit over ninth ranked Dean Sherry of Rider. His two losses on the year are to then-ranked 29 Neal Richards of Virginia Military (7-3) and to Oklahoma State’s Andrew Shomers (4-2 in sudden victory.)
