HASBROUCK HEIGHTS, NJ - Would you believe that Hasbrouck Heights oldest rival is Park Ridge? That they first played 100+ years ago, actually twice, in 1918? (Yes, that pre-dates the NJSIAA). Friday evenings game at Depken Field will be the 60th (at least) time the two schools have met on the gridiron.
The Owls and Aviators have played at least 59 times dating back to 1918, when they played twice. (Records for the 1919 season, as well as the early 20's are missing some results). So how has Hasbrouck Heights done in the rivalry?
Well the Aviators are 46-12-1 all-time against Park Ridge, and have won more games against the Owls than anyone other than Wood-Ridge. Much of the damage was done between 1941 and 1954, when the Aviators won 16 straight games against the Owls. (During 1944 and 1945, the BCSL had teams play a home-and-away series game against each team in the league.)
The Aviators would win five more straight games against Park Ridge from 1973 to 1986 before dropping a 15-14 decision in 1987.
The Owls would go 8-3 against the Aviators from 1988 to 1999, when they played once each season.
From 2000 to 2018 the Aviators have fared better, going 10-1 against Park Ridge,

Of course, none of that matters in determining who wins the North 2, Group 1 title on Friday Night.
Game time is 7:00, but plan to get there early.
