WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - Wood-Ridge's run towards a Group 1 title came to end on Saturday, as the third-seeded Blue Devils dropped their quarterfinal match to Verona, 2-0, in Wood-Ridge Tuesday afternoon.   The Blue Devils were just a key point away in both games of the match,

Wood-Ridge dropped the first game 28-26, after having the game tied at 26-26.  The second game was the same close battle, as Verona won the final two points, breaking a 24-24 tie for the victory.

"Obviously we were disappointed because nobody likes to lose but having said that the girls left it all on the court," said Wood-Ridge head coach Andrea Marino. "We never gave up and our scores were indicative of a highly well played match. I couldn't be any prouder of this team. Everyone counted us out from the beginning, and we never let down.  There is so much to be grateful and proud of this season."
