MORRISTOWN, NJ - Wood-RIdge's Bradley Mika captured the District 11 championship at 182 pounds Saturday afternoon at Morristown High School. It is the second straight year Mika has been district champion, The two wins today leave him with 99 wins in his high school career as he advances to the Sectional Championships next week.
Mika defeated Morris Catholic's Thomas Tsangoropo by pinfall in 43 seconds to advance to the final. He captured the 182 crown by defeating Caldwell's Max Ruiz, 7-6 to become a two-time District Champion.
Kyle Reiter also advanced to next week's sectionals with a third place finish at 132. Reiter defeated Thomas Ung of Whippany Park via pinfall at the 3.27 mark in his opening match. He suffered a pinfall loss to Giovanni Rivera of Morristown, relegating him to the consolation match, where he pinned Michael Sullivan of Hackettstown at the 1.14 mark.
David Flores finished fourth at 285 for the Blue Devils, defeating Quawee Shubrick-F, East Orange Campus at the 3.37 mark in his opening match, before losing to Kearny 's Devin Narvaez in 2.37. In the consolation match, he dropped a 6-2 decision to Cody Motto of Hackettstown.
Sayd Fortuna (120), Thomas Perez (126) Angel Espinosa (138), Nigel Baltodano (152), Joseph Berrios (160), Luis Viciso-Gil (170) and Matthew Murray (195) also competed for Wood-Ridge.
