NEWTOWN, PA. - Hasbrouck Heights’ Julia Campen went 3-1 with a save in 18 innings pitched as the Akadema Elite Showcase 18U team travelled to Newton, Pa to play seven games over the extended weekend.

Campen kicked off the Elite’s tournament action with a 14-2 win over Delaware Valley, allowing two unearned runs in picking up the win.  She chipped in at the bat as well, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in the process. 

She picked up the win in the Elite’s next game, a 6-4 win over Jersey Girls’ Black, allowing four runs in throwing a complete game on Friday.  Saturday she picked up her third win of the weekend, throwing the opening two innings of 9-2 win over Manhattan Mayhem as the Elite improved their tournament record to 3-1 on the weekend.

She pitched in the nightcap as well, pitching the final inning, allowing two runs, one earned as the Elite held off a late South Jersey Mystics rally, to win 10-9.  Campen picked up the save.

The Elite’s tournament ended on a down note, as they dropped both games on Sunday.  Campen took the loss in the opener, allowing five runs, only one earned in a 5-2 loss to the South Jersey Heat.  The Elite lost the last game of the weekend, 11-3, to the Pennsbury Gems.
