WOOD-RIDGE, NJ - Nine youth soccer players, ranging in age from nine to 14, advanced to the next round in the 2019 Soccer Challenge, which was hosted by the Knights of Columbus Saint Anthony Council #11585 on Friday, September 27 at on Donna Ricker Field at Wood-Ridge High School.
The Soccer Challenge had 23 entrants in its inaugural event, according to John Milne, Grand Knight, who thanked all who participated. The next level event will be in October, on a date to be announced later.
Participants competed in their own age group by gender. They were given 15 penalty kicks at a goal with 5 scoring zones. Points were awarded based on the scoring zone through which the ball passed.
