Summers carried three times on the first drive before Auriemma hit Billings for a 6-0 lead.  George Kouletas kicked the extra point for an 8-0 Heights lead. (Extra points that are kicked are worth two points in Meadowlands Football League play.)

Late in the second quarter, Summers broke through the line and went 54 yards down the field for a touchdown to increase the Aviators lead to 14-0. Kouletas nailed the extra point to make the score 16-0.

With 3:29 left in the third quarter, Summers broke a run for 21 yards for the game’s final touchdown. Kouletas, who was perfect on the night, kicked the extra point for a 24-0 lead.

(Under Meadowlands Football League, any game with a three touchdown lead after three quarters is considered complete.  The fourth quarter is played using the “B” teams, with a running clock and no score on the scoreboard.)

The Senior Aviators improved to 4-1 on the season with the win, and are in second place in the MFL Northern Division.

Junior Division

Hasbrouck Heights 22, Carlstadt East Rutherford 0

Jalil Baldwin scored two rushing touchdowns, and Michael Napolitano scored once as the Aviators jumped out to a 22-0 first quarter lead against the Wildcats in the Junior Division game.

Baldwin scored the first two touchdowns as the Aviators jumped out 14-0.  Napolitano scored right before the quarter, and Matthew Samperi kicked the extra point to give the Junior Aviators a commanding 22-0 lead after one.

The second quarter was scoreless, and the third quarter was played with a running clock before the game was declared for the Junior Aviators, and a “B” game was conducted in the fourth quarter.

The Aviators improved to 4-1 on the season with the win.

Pee-Wee Division

There was no Pee-Wee game as Carlstadt/East Rutherford does not have the numbers to field a team.

The Aviators are home next week to the New Milford Knights in a battle of the two top teams in all three levels on the Northern Division so far this season.
