HAWTHORNE, NJ - In "normal times" the dog run in the Goffle Brook Park in Hawthorne would bring together locals with their canine companions to let both man and beast mingle.  However, in an effort to slow the spread of the coronavirus and enforce social distancing behavior, the county has closed the fenced in area so many furry, four legged fellows had gone for a jaunt.

A sign on the gate warned dog owners to take the message seriously.  "If this request is disregarded, we will be forced to close our parks."
