HAWTHORNE, NJ - Hawthorne Green Team member and local photographer extraordinnaire Holly Cowen has shared some of her recent snaps with TAPinto Hawthorne. "I sent some pictures from our first bird/history walk of the year," Cowen said. "Some of the highlights were a mother groundhog with her pup, palm warbler, lots of red-winged blackbirds, and a red tail hawk getting chased by a red wing."
The Bird Walk attendees met at the historic John W. Rea House, situated just off Goffle Road in Goffle Brook Park. "We met there and were joined by local author Veronica Ditko who talked about some of our town’s history," Cowen said. "Lisa DeVos, Rayna Laiosa, and Liana Romano, and I led the walk."
Cowen told TAPinto Hawthorne that another walk is scheduled to be held on Saturday, May 11, at 8:30 a.m. As with the first, they will meet at the Rea House before starting.
