HAWTHORNE, NJ - Autumn has arrived and the trees are turning beautiful shades of red, brown, and gold.  But they are also falling fast, cluttering lawns, yards, and sidewalks.  The borough announced on Monday that residents are entitled to up to 15 free leaf bags from the Recycling Center on Wagaraw Road starting on Saturday, October 21.  The leaf collection itself will begin on Wednesday, November 1.  Residents are not to push loose leaves into the street, but have them properly contained and on the curb for normal pick up.

The Recycling Center is open on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. and Monday to Saturday from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
