HAWTHORNE, NJ - According to the Passaic County Department of Health, as of March 24, the borough of Hawthorne has 5 positive cases of coronavirus.

The first case was reported in on March 19, while four were reported in on the 24th.

As of this writing, no further information on the afflicted was available.

In neighboring Prospect Park, the total rose to 3.  Haledon is reporting 2 cases.  North Haledon has no cases reported at this time.

Governor Phil Murphy has said at numerous press conferences that residents should anticipate the number of cases to rise as testing expands and data is gathered.  As of 10:00 p.m., Tuesday, the state reported a total of 3,675 cases across New Jersey with 216 in Passaic County.
