Heavy Rains Cause Street Flooding in Hawthorne

HAWTHORNE, NJ - Heavy rains this morning have resulted in flooding in several areas of Hawthorne.  The borough of Hawthorne announced an advisory for the following parts of town, telling drivers to avoid these areas and not to drive on flooded or closed streets.

Lafayette Avenue, Goffle Road, and Wagaraw Road are experiencing areas of flooding.  Lafayette Avenue particularly between McKinley Avenue and Central Avenue.

Goffle Road is affected in the southern area, causing an impact on the areas of North 8th Street and Mohawk Avenue.

The train tressle which passes over Wagaraw Road and is frequently prone to flooding in general.

Grand Avenue just to the east of the Louis Bay 2nd Library.
