Incident Title: MV Stop / Possession of Marijuana
Suspect information: Jerry Lopez 24 year old male from NYC
Vehicle information: 2017 Honda Accord (red)
Description of incident: Suspect vehicle was pulled over on Wagaraw Road near Ryerson Way for Motor Vehicle violations. While the officer was speaking to the driver, the officer smelled marijuana coming from the vehicle. Officers asked the occupants about the marijuana and the above suspect, a passenger, proceeded to reach down and pull a marijuana cigarette from his sock. The suspect then also pulled a small black shopping bag that had a clear lunch bag that had what appeared to be marijuana in it. Suspect was brought out of the car and arrested. While searching the suspect, there was a large amount of cash in the suspect’s pocket. The marijuana in the shopping bag was divided into twenty small zip lock bags which each contained marijuana. Due to the method of packaging of the marijuana, it appeared that the suspect had been involved in selling marijuana. The suspect was charged with possession of marijuana and intent to distribute marijuana. The suspect money appeared to be proceeds from illegal sales and was seized for forfeiture proceedings.

Incident Title: DWI
Suspect information: Abraham Andrade 32 year old male from Paterson, NJ
Vehicle information: 2009 Chrysler minivan (white)
Description of incident: A message was relayed to officers about an erratic driver traveling south on Lincoln Ave. Officers observed the vehicle driving without his lights on and the driver was on his cell phone. The vehicle was pulled over on Lincoln Ave near Minerva Ave. The driver was asked if he had been drinking, and he said he had about 5 or 6 beers and was traveling home from Ramsey. The party failed his field sobriety tests and was arrested. Party was transported to headquarters for processing. Party was released after being given summonses for DWI, careless driving, failure to use lights, use of hand-held electronic device, failure to inspect, failure to stay in marked lanes, and unlicensed driver.

Incident Title: MV stop / poss of syringe and paraphernalia
Suspect information: Vanessa Umbro 29 year old from New Rochelle, NY
Vehicle information: 2013 Hyundai Sonata (black)
Description of incident: Vehicle was pulled over on Wagaraw Road near Ryerson Way for MV violations. While speaking with the driver, the officer noticed track marks on the drivers arm, which is usually associated with heroin use. The officer asked if anything illegal was in car, to which the driver said no. After a consent to search of the vehicle was obtained, the vehicle was searched. Located in the vehicle were 8 syringes, 38 empty bags that previously contained heroin, and other paraphernalia. The party was arrested and issued criminal summons for the syringe, paraphernalia and motor vehicle violations.

Incident Title: MV stop / Drug Paraphernalia/syringe
Suspect information: Baldan Buday 27 year old female from Hawthorne
Vehicle information: 2009 Honda Civic (silver)
Description of incident: Vehicle was pulled over on N. 7th street near Prescott for MV violations. Driver had several track marks on her arm. When asked if she had any contraband, the driver began to cry. She then proceeded to hand over a case from her waistband which contained syringes, a small clear baggie that had suspected CDS residue and several empty glassine envelopes. She was arrested and brought to HQ for processing. She was charged with possession of syringes, paraphernalia, and several MV violations. The owner of the vehicle, who was not on scene, was issued a summons for allowing a suspended driver to operate a Motor Vehicle.

Incident Title: MV stop /heroin arrest
Suspect information: Richard Copeland 34 year old male from Franklin NJ
Vehicle information: 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee (tan)
Description of incident: Above vehicle pulled over for MV violations on Goffle Road near Warburton Avenue. The driver was observed to have several track marks on his arm. The driver was also nervous, visibly shaking while speaking with officers. The driver stated he was coming from Paterson, as he was staying with a friend. The driver appeared to have trouble remembering what the exact name of his friend was. The driver stated he didn’t have any illegal contraband in his vehicle, and signed a consent to search his vehicle. During the search, a syringe was found, as well as small rubber bands and an empty glassine envelope. These were located under a mat in the front console area of the vehicle. The driver was arrested, and while searching him, 2 bundles of heroin were located in his underwear area. The driver was transported to Passaic County Jail after being processed for Possession of Heroin, syringes, drug paraphernalia, hindering, MV violations including operating a MV while in possession of Narcotic.
