PROSPECT PARK, NJ - Mayor Mohamed T. Khairullah, the Borough Council and the greater community of the Borough of Prospect Park proudly announce that a Collection Drive for Earthquake Victims in Puerto Rico will take place on Saturday, January 18, 2020 from 12:00PM to 4:00PM at the Prospect Park Municipal Building Council Chambers (106 Brown Avenue, Prospect Park, NJ 07508).

In the wake of massive earthquakes of high magnitudes, the people of Puerto Rico have suffered a tragedy that has left them in a dire ituation to receive assistance. Join the Borough of Prospect Park as we unite to provide the necessary support and resources to assist the victims of massive earthquakes in Puerto Rico. The Borough will be accepting non-perishable items and toiletry products.

“I urge members of the Prospect Park community to once again open hearts and wallets for our brothers and sisters in Puerto Rico,” said Mayor Khairullah. The Borough of Prospect Park diverse identity is committed to being in the front lines of humanitarian efforts as “our community has demonstrated in the past that we have a big heart for those who are in need and we will show up again for the people of Puerto Rico” Khairullah added.

The Borough of Prospect Park community’s humanitarian efforts rallied behind an initiative called “Prospect Park Cares” will be conducting their second collection drive for the people of Puerto Rico since 2017 when the community came together to offer relief for the people of Puerto Rico suffering from the devastation left by Hurricane Maria.
