PROSPECT PARK, NJ - The Borough of Prospect Park has partnered with NJEDA and Medina = CITI to host a ZOOM meeting on Wednesday, June 3, at 6:00 p.m., for residents of the borough interested in pursuing small business grants in light of the coronavirus pandemic.  The Small Business Emergency Assistance Grant Program has been extended and residents looking to sign up for the meeting may do so by filling out a webform, found here.

“The governing body and I are committed to doing everything we can to provide the necessary tools, resources, and overall support for small business community to get the much needed help they deserve to thrive during these unprecedented times as they are the backbone of the local economy," Mayor Mohamed Khairullah said.

Khairullah said that senior representatives from both the NJEDA and Medina = CITI would be at Wednesday's meeting.  These individuals will, "help guide our small businesses on the process of applying to the $50 million phase 2 NJEDA grant expansion program whereas $15 million has been set aside to support NJ opportunity zones in which all of Prospect Park census tracts are designated as such - giving us an advantage to leverage these resources."  The mayor added that, "Our municipal staff will be on hand during the session to learn as well to become a support staff, further assisting these businesses when the applications open on Monday, June 8th.  Therefore, I encourage all of our small businesses to take advantage of this opportunity by registering for the information session and learn about the resources available to assist them in response to the COVID-19 pandemic."
