TRENTON, NJ - Governor Phil Murphy released the latest COVID-19 figures from around the state on Saturday.

In New Jersey, there were 379 new cases reported, with 9 new deaths. Statewide, there are 184,429 positive cases and 14,016 deaths, and 1,853 probable COVID-19 fatalities.  

According to Murphy, Bergen County has 20,751 positive cases, followed by Essex (19,715), Hudson (19,641), Middlesex (17,884), and Passaic (17,623) with 642 under investigation.

On Saturday, August 8, the New Jersey State Health Department was reporting a total of 1,091 confirmed COVID-19 deaths in Passaic County with 148 probable deaths.  Neighboring Bergen County had 1,787 confirmed and 251 probable deaths.

As of 10:00 p.m. Friday, there were 540 people hospitalized, 94 in ICU, and 34 on ventilators.

Sunday, 12:39 p.m. UPDATE: Governor Murphy announced a further update Sunday, saying, "New Jersey has 378 new positive cases of COVID-19, pushing our cumulative total to 184,773.  Sadly, we must report an additional confirmed 5 COVID-19 deaths, pushing our total to 14,021 lives lost."
