HAWTHORNE, NJ - The Borough of Hawthorne announced that there has been an increase in vehicular break-ins in the borough. The Hawthorne Police Department has issued warnings for residents before, as a result of complaints of vehicles being entered and items taken.
"Residents are reminded to bring valuables and personal belongings inside and lock your vehicles," the borough said in a statement.
On social media, some residents have also complained about packages being stolen from their doors, encouraging each other to check footage from home security cameras.
On Saturday, November 21, the Police Department reported a burglary and theft of a local business, which resulted in an arrest.
