Make the Call

A few days ago, I was looking through photos from my childhood and I started reminiscing about family members who have passed or with whom I’ve lost contact. One memory was front and center because it jarred strong emotions within me.

My father’s cousin was a wonderful man who was a high level production executive for the ABC television network. He started as an elevator operator ...

Anything is Possible

Memorial Day weekend, for many, signifies the unofficial start to summer. This past weekend, as I was looking at my swimming pool, I began to think about how I felt four years ago when I was able to make a dream a reality.

I Love a Parade

It’s Memorial Day. The weather is warm, social gathings are welcome, and masks are optional.

I want to march in a parade.

I want to hold my head high and wave royally to bystanders lining the street left and right as I march by. I want to witness the open smiles of maskless citizens standing in small-town clusters around lamp posts and parking meters and polished glass store fronts. I ...
