HAWTHORNE, NJ - The Hawthorne Municipal Pool is being worked on to get it into shape for the anticipated opening on July 2. TAPinto Hawthorne contributor Judy Kopitar visited the pool to see some of the preparations being done by pool personnel wearing face masks. "Everyone was hard at work making sure it will be safe."
Lifeguards Jaycob Castillo, Ellie Gallo, Maria Molinelli, and Nick Manzi were on hand working to get the facility ready.
The swimming pool is a popular summer pastime for the residents of Hawthorne. The adjacent grounds boast tennis courts and the Boro Bandshell where summer concerts had been held in the past. The fields also support the annual Hawthorne Day celebration, although that has been canceled this year to ensure the safety of the residents during the coronavirus pandemic.
Further information regarding the pool is available at the borough website.
