Shop Hawthorne First!
The Borough of Hawthorne and the Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce is working together to support our local Hawthorne businesses during the COVID-19 Pandemic. In order to help our local food establishments, we are hoping that you will order take out to help ease their economic burden. Some of our local businesses will be severely affected. The key to coping with chaos is staying calm.
We have developed a list of all Hawthorne food-related businesses, convenience stores and pharmacies that will remain open until further notified by Governor Murphy.
“This is an opportunity for the community to show their love and compassion for our food establishments. Hawthorne has a great spirit of helping, and this is another way for us to show our support for our neighbors and friends," said Mayor Richard S. Goldberg.
“We are asking our residents to support our local businesses, food, grocery, and pharmacies that are opened during this time. We are encouraging our residents to purchase gift cards for the future. I would like to challenge each of us to a competition on how much money we can spend in Hawthorne during the COVID-19 Pandemic,” said Rayna Laiosa, Councilwoman for Ward 2.
Hawthorne Chamber of Commerce President Rob Meier added, “These local businesses are always there for us and our community. Now, it’s our turn. It is very important now, more than ever before, to shop local and support our friends and neighbors that own these businesses. You can’t buy happiness, but you can bring happiness to our local business owners by supporting them. If we all don’t shop local, ghost towns appear with empty storefronts. Let’s all try to Shop Local and Shop Hawthorne First.”
Thank you for supporting our local Hawthorne businesses!
