HAWTHORNE, NJ - Hawthorne High School Senior Alexsandra X. Clavijo can look forward to a bright academic future as she prepares to begin a rigorous 6 year course with Seton Hall's joint degree program. At the end of the program, she will have earned a B.S. from the Roman Catholic institution's Stillman School of Business, along with a Juris Doctorate. Additionally, Clavijo has been awarded the maximum scholarship offered by Seton Hall.
Seton Hall describes the process as a "3+3 program, students earn a bachelor's degree in either Business or Diplomacy and International Relations and then continue to Seton Hall Law School to earn a Juris Doctorate."
Clavijo will need to maintain a 3.25 cumulative GPA in her first year and a 3.60 cumulative GPA in the subsequent undergraduate years, according to the university.
"Seton Hall Law is one of the most renowned law schools in the nation, ranked #1 in the nation for judicial clerkships," a letter from the university read, "and #11 in the nation for employment by the National Law Journal."
"As you can imagine, I am doubly thrilled," Alexander Clavijo, Alexsandra's father, told TAPinto Hawthorne, "not only as a parent but also as a school board trustee. Her success, along with many others, is a testament to the quality of education the Hawthorne Public Schools are providing. In addition, she is a well-rounded community-minded individual thanks to the Hawthorne community she has grown up in."
