HAWTHORNE, NJ - Mikey Galland graduated from Hawthorne High School this year but, due to the pandemic, could not participate in a traditional graduation ceremony gathered with classmates, family, and friends.  Nevertheless, his family wanted to hold a graduation party for him.

Like many, the business closures and stay-at-home orders left him a little shaggy and Galland wanted a haircut for the occasion.  But barbers and salons are not yet open in New Jersey.  That's where his girlfriend Carley Tamburro stepped in with her scissors and skill.  Situated outside, she gave him the haircut he couldn't wait for to help him celebrate his milestone in style.

Carley graduated from Hawthorne High School last year and is a member of the Hawthorne Volunteer Ambulance Corps, as is Mikey.  She is also a member of the Hawthorne Fire Department, the daughter of former Fire Chief Vic Tamburro.
