NORTH HALEDON, NJ - North Haledon Mayor Randy George released a letter on Thursday, March 19, notifying residents of an Eastern Christian High School staff member being diagnosed with coronavirus.
Yesterday afternoon I was informed that a member of Eastern Christian High School's staff, who lives in Haledon, was diagnosed with the corona virus. The Haledon Board of Health, in conjunction with the Passaic Board of Health, has begun an investigation in to who this person has recently been in contact with. The person's identity has not been disclosed due to HIPAA laws.
Eastern Christian High School was closed beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, but there was a faculty meeting that day, that the staff member attended. The staff member was diagnosed on Tuesday, March 17, with the corona virus. I have been in contact with the superintendent of the high school, and he assured me that everything that can be done to protect the children, the staff members, and the public at large, is being done. One good point out of this is that the high school is closed.
This is all the information I have at the present, and I notified the President of the North Haledon Board of Health to keep the Board in the loop. When more information becomes available, I will pass it onto the residents.
If you are feeling ill, please contact your doctor, and continue to practice social distancing.
