NORTH HALEDON, NJ - Mayor Randy George released a letter yesterday in which he updated residents of the current official numbers of coronavirus cases in the county. As of the time of this writing, Passaic County had not yet updated its website with their official tally.
According to the County, North Haledon was reporting a total of 6 positive cases, Hawthorne with a total of 18, Haledon with a total of 5, and Prospect Park with a total of 4, although Prospect Park Mayor Khairullah had reported 8 cases this week.
Mayor George also said that 144 tests were carried out at the William Paterson University testing facility for Passaic County residents with a prescription. Of those tested, 67 came back positive, or 44%.
"I want all the residents of the Borough to look in the direction of High Mountain in the middle of next week," Mayor George said. "I am having the Star of High Mountain installed as a symbol of hope for all of us."
