HAWTHORNE, NJ - Superintendent of Schools Richard Spirito announced that the Hawthorne Public Schools will be closed for two weeks, effective Monday, March 16. 

"Parents, please visit our district website for information regarding school closure and remote learning materials," Spirito said in a statement. "School offices will remain open from 8:30am - 12:30pm next week. Feel free to reach out with any questions."

Hawthorne Athletics Director and Assistant Principal Art Mazzacca released a statement through social media.  "Just a reminder, with the schools being closed, all athletic events, scrimmages and practices, are canceled. Please take this time to work on your assignments and to stay safe. We will keep you posted with updates. Go Bears!!!"
