HAWTHORNE, NJ - On Friday, Superintendent of Schools Richard Spirito released a statement regarding the uncertainty of the balance of the school year.  "As many of you are aware, the Governor is planning to make an announcement about the possibility of reopening schools in the coming weeks," Spirito said.  "In the meantime, the Hawthorne Public School district is already in the process of looking at all end of year events. We are looking into which events can be held virtually and investigating alternate plans for events that cannot."

Spirito said that he was "hopeful" that the schools would be reopening, and allowing the "traditional end of year events" to take place, but if that was not possible, alternatives were being discussed.
