Treehouse Foods, Inc is voluntarily recalling certain Chewy Granola Bars due to mislabeling. The company stated that the recall was initiated because the outer carton stated the product was Chocolate Chip, however, some individually wrapped product inside the carter contained the Peanut Butter & Chocolate Chip variety.

People who have an allergy or severe sensitivity to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product, they said.

The product was distributed to ACME markets as well as nationwide at Albertsons, Albertsons Market, Amigos, Andronico’s Community Market, Carrs-Safeway, Eagle, Haggen, Jewel-Osco, Lucky (limited to stores in Utah), Market Street, Pak N Save, Randalls, Safeway, Safeway Community Markets, Shaw’s, Star Market, Tom Thumb, United Express, United Supermarkets and Vons.

The company discovered the issue after receive three consumer complaints, said company officials. Only one allergic reaction has been reported, they said.

Consumers who have purchased any of the above products are urged to dispose of or return the products to the place of purchase for a full refund. Consumers with any questions may call 800.596.2902, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. (EST).
