HAWTHORNE, NJ – This morning, the office of Mayor Goldberg released a statement following the passing of Councilman Garret Sinning, aged 79.
“It is with sadness that I announce the passing of Councilman Garret Sinning late yesterday afternoon; details of his wake and funeral are to follow,” the mayor said.
Mayor Goldberg further ordered the borough flags to be flown at half-staff until after the funeral.
Editor's Update: According to his obituary, friends of the Sinning family may visit the Browning-Forshay Funeral Home in Hawthorne on Sunday, November 24, between 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. Councilman Sinning will be interred at the George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus following a 10:00 a.m. service on Monday. Donations to the Hawthorne Ambulance Corps or American Brittany Rescue are asked in lieu of flowers.
