HAWTHORNE, NJ - A majestic tree along Goffle Brook stands out against the drizzly, cool start of Spring accompanied by so much worry and concern.
"Even in this dark time in our history, this huge cherry tree manages to bloom," said TAPinto Hawthorne contributor Judy Kopitar of the colorful arbor. "For more than a decade this tree has pushed its way through cement in a driveway with its roots growing down to Goffle Brook. It is totally surrounded by cement but it gets bigger and stronger every year."
Kopitar said that the tree always blooms late and she had been photographing it for several years. "When all the other cherry trees in Hawthorne have lost their blossoms, this tree blooms. It shows us if you are patient, you will see brightness."
