HAWTHORNE, NJ - While people are largely confined to their homes, occasionally venturing out for necessary shopping or, when the weather is agreeable, a stroll in the recently reopened parks, the wildlife of Hawthorne has been flourishing this spring.

Holly Cowen, a member of the Hawthorne Environmental Commission's Green Team, shared some photos of her recent forays in town, capturing stills of some of the birds who call Hawthorne home.  Cowen said these pictures were taken during early morning walks, just after the parks opened on May 2.
