HAWTHORNE, NJ - The arrival of Tropical Storm Fay brought strong rains and winds to Hawthorne, churning up Arnold's Pond and Goffle Brook in the park which bears its name.

"When the rain slowed down I went to Arnold's Pond as I figured the falls would be roaring," TAPinto Hawthorne contributor Judy Kopitar said.  "They were.  When I was a block away I was able to hear the 'Niagara Falls of Hawthorne'."

Kopitar said she expected to be alone in the rainy weather but that was not the case.  "It seems others had the same idea to either take a photo of it or show their children the beauty of the rushing water.  The brook had beauty of its own with white caps."
