HAWTHORNE, NJ - The borough of Hawthorne issued a statement Monday morning attempting to address an apparent rumor of a coronavirus case in Hawthorne online.  Sunday evening, TAPinto Hawthorne reported the borough's assertion that there were "no known cases" at the time.

"There is a rumor on social media that a Hawthorne resident has coronavirus," the borough said.  "This individual neither lives nor works in Hawthorne, but was a graduate of Hawthorne High School many years ago.  Please don't use social media as your news source on the spread of coronavirus."
