PATERSON, NJ - The Wayne Police Department received a call of an animal cruelty complaint on May 31, 2019, and sent officers to the vicinity of Knox Terrace, according to a statement from the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office.  When the police arrived, they were told that a dog had been taken to the Fairfield Animal Emergency Hospital by Craig J. Lam, 37, a resident of Wayne.  The hospital staff reported that the dog was dead on arrival.

The police placed Lam under arrest and charged him with animal cruelty, a third degree offense.

Lam has been scheduled to appear at CJP Court on July 24, 2019, and the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office asks if anyone has further information regarding the matter to contact the Wayne Police at 973-633-3530, the Passaic County Prosecutor's Office at 877-370-PCPO, or to email them at tips@passaiccountynj.org.
