HALEDON, NJ - When the Haledon Police Department received a report of a male breaking into a vehicle on Cliff Street at 4:47 a.m. Saturday, Sergeant Michael Susen and Officers Semir Celoski and April Latona found the alleged suspect at the corner of West Broadway and Burhans Avenue, according to Lt. George Guzman, Public Information Officer. The officers responding ordered the suspect to stop, but the suspect, identified as 19 year old Geremy Pulinario from Passaic, New Jersey, allegedly fled, "jumping multiple fences" as he did so.
Lt. Guzman said that the police were joined by the Passaic County Sheriff's Office, William Paterson University Police Department, and the Prospect Park Police Department in establishing a perimeter. It was at the intersection of Lee Avenue and John Street that a sheriff's officer apprehended Pulinario, who was placed in the custody of the Haledon Police Department.
The police found that Pulinario was wanted by the Bergen County Sheriff's Department for several past burglaries.
"Haledon Police Detective Christian Clavo led an investigation which concluded that Pulinario burglarized at least three additional vehicles on Cliff Street," Lt. Guzman said.
