HAWTHORNE, NJ - Two 18 year olds, Devin Paredes of Prospect Park and Jazyre Kearney of Paterson, were arrested on August 31 at 1:26 a.m. after a report of two males pulling on car doors in the vicinity of Goffle Road and Macfarlan Avenue, according to the Hawthorne Police Department.
When the officers arrived on the scene and found the two individuals who matched descriptions given to them, they spoke to them and asked for their ID. They said they had no ID on them and that they were going home after attending a party in Hawthorne. According to the police, on the ground nearby were "several items that appeared to be from a vehicle," including a car key and a AAA membership card. The police found the home of the cardholder and there found the resident's car had been entered and some things had gone missing.
A local resident had security cameras on the house which caught the two men going through cars, and the footage was reviewed by the police. Both were arrested and charged with burglary and theft. Paredes was transported to the Passaic County Jail while Kearney was released pending a court date.
