HAWTHORNE, NJ - A juvenile was determined to be responsible for the vandalism which struck the Louis Bay 2nd Library in Hawthorne on the night of October 30, according to the Hawthorne Police Department.

When residents reported that an obscene image and racially charged word had been put on the window of the Jefferson Avenue side of the library, Hawthorne detectives began an investigation.  "Detectives were able to contact the family and brought in the juvenile(s) responsible," the Hawthorne Police said through a statement.

The individual, who has not been named due to his or her age, is facing pending juvenile charges.
