HAWTHORNE, NJ - A major accident took place on Hutchinson Avenue and 4th Avenue Friday in which the SUV is believed to have struck a pole, jumped over the curb, and caught fire. 

Hawthorne Police, fire department, and ambulance responded, transporting the driver of the car to an area hospital.

A source said that the driver had Narcan administered by the Hawthorne Police as a result of a possible overdose.

The accident took place shortly after a blue car on Rea Avenue was damaged in a hit and run, according to a source. Hawthorne Police are said to be looking into whether or not there is a connection between the incidents.
