HAWTHORNE, NJ - Since last week, residents have been complaining about a large group or groups of adolescents on bicycles riding recklessly, often down the middle of roads.  Among the complaints were that traffic was stopped, stop signs were ignored, and that both cars and pedestrians were obstructed from passing at times.

On social media, dozens of comments were exchanged among residents about potential risks the bike riders posed and a risk to drivers.  Residents reported seeing the riders going against the flow of traffic, making cars swerve, and popping wheelies in the streets.  Residents claim the youths demonstrated aggressive and taunting behavior towards those with whom they share the road.
