HIGHLAND PARK, NJ – New Jersey Citizen Action, along with local constituents, partners and faith leaders will hold “Health Care Stake Outs” in Republican Congressional Districts on Thursday and Friday.

The day-long gatherings will draw attention to the impact of the proposed Republican health plan.

A Congressional Budget Office analysis says 24 million people in the US will lose health care coverage due to the plan.

Despite the findings of the CBO, Republicans are forging ahead with repeal efforts, citing the savings to the Federal deficit.

Maura Collinsgru, Health Care Program Director for New Jersey Citizen Action, said, “Now, we officially know from the CBO report just how much harm this plan will do to the people in NJ and the country.

"Tens of millions will lose access to affordable, quality care – almost a million in New Jersey, alone.  Clearly, the Republicans believe that it’s acceptable to harm everyone but the wealthiest among us in their quest.  This is not what they promised America,” she added.

Constituents will gather in front of the offices of Representatives Rodney Frelinghuysen, Leonard Lance, Frank LoBiondo, Tom MacArthur and Chris Smith
