HILLSBOROUGH, NJ  - The township’s annual Memorial Day Parade Saturday, May 26 will be led by Air Force veteran Tim Coyle who will serve as Grand Marshal.

He will also speak at the Garden of Honor ceremony at the conclusion of the parade at the municipal complex.

 Coyle served from October,1966-October 1970 during the Vietnam conflict at Kadena Air Force base in Okinawa, Japan, as a Fuel Specialist He began his military career as an Airman and worked his way up to Sergeant before his discharge.

He has lived in the township for 27 years with his wife Sue; the couple has three grown children.  Coyle is a volunteer firefighter and served as chief of the Woods Road Fire Department.

The Hillsborough Memorial Day Parade begins at the corner of Auten and Triangle Roads at 10:30 am. The parade route will proceed from Auten Road onto New Amwell Road then onto Beekman Lane, concluding at the Garden of Honor at the Peter J. Biondi Municipal Building, where Coyle will deliver his remarks at 11:15 a.m..

All Hillsborough veterans are invited to participate in the 13th annual Salute to Veterans Breakfast at the municipal complex and to lead Hillsborough’s Memorial Day Parade and commemoration program. Registration is required for the 7:30 a.m. breakfast and can be completed online at the Township’s Parks and Recreation website or by calling the Parks and Recreation Department at 908-369-4832.

The Salute to Veterans Breakfast will be held May 26 th rain or shine. The rain date for the Parade and Garden of Honor Ceremonies is Sunday, May 27 .

“What more fitting way to honor our veterans at the Salute to Veterans Breakfast, but to also have them lead our parade and then finally having our Grand Marshal address the crowd during the Garden of Honor Ceremonies,” said Mayor Gloria McCauley.
