HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - Township resident Alexandra Donnadio has been selected as Miss UNICO-Hillsborough 2016-'17 and will represent the organization at public events.
The 22-year-old is a graduate of Hillsborough High School. She attended Raritan Valley Community College and currently attends John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York.
She has volunteered at the Vacation Bible School, JFK Hospital, NJ Association of Counties as well as other organizations. She received her Bronze Award in Girl Scouts and was a member of the Criminal Justice Club at RVCC.
She enjoys hiking, outdoor activities, sports and cooking. One of her favorite Italian-American traditions is helping her mother prepare Sunday dinner.
Her parents are of Sicilian and Calabrese descent.
Her first public appearance as Miss UNICO-Hillsborough will be Aug. 20 at the Hillsborough Rotary Fair Family Fun Day for families with children/young adults with disabilities from 1 to 4 p.m. at the field adjacent to the Promenade Shopping Center on Route 206.
She will also appear in the John Basilone Parade in Raritan on Sunday, Sept. 18 at 1 p.m.
