FRANKLIN TOWNSHIP, NJ – Police are seeking help from the public after a man's body was found in  a wooded area off Phillips Road Sunday night.

The investigation is ongoing, according to Somerset County Prosecutor Michael H. Robertson, who provided the following account:

A 911 call was received at 8:23 p.m. that reported discovery of the body; Franklin Police confirmed the location, with detectives from the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes and Crime Scene Units, the Franklin Township Police Department, and medical investigators from the New Jersey Northern Regional Medical Examiner’s Office responding to conduct the investigation.

A post mortem examination will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death, along with a positive identification pending next of kin notification.
