HILLSBOROUGH, NJ - Bomb-sniffing dogs combed through the classrooms and hallways of Hillsborough Middle School and outdoor areas after a bomb threat was received by the school mid-afternoon Thursday, Jan. 26.
Students had already been dismissed when the call was received, according to police. Those students still in the building for after school and extra-curricular activities were evacuated.
Police were called to the school at 3:25 p.m.
The school, located at 260 Triangle Road, was searched by police officers along with bomb sniffing K-9 units.
Nothing suspicious was located.
The incident is still under investigation and anyone with information is asked to contact the Hillsborough Police at (908) 369-4323 ext-8.
Responding units included the Hillsborough police, Somerset County Sheriff’s Dept K-9, Union County Sheriff’s Dept K-9, New Brunswick Police K-9, Hillsborough Rescue Squad, Hillsborough Fire Companies, and Hillsborough Office of Emergency Management.
