BRIDGEWATER, NJ - The board of education is holding a special meeting Dec. 10 to hear from a transportation consultant regarding later school start times in the district.
The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at John F. Kennedy Primary School, in Raritan.
The purpose of the meeting is to hear the transportation coordinator's report on possible models for later school start times.
The district has been discussing the possibility of later school start times, beginning with the high school, for months, and have heard from doctors and other experts about the benefits of doing so, as well as from other districts that have moved forward with the change.
The district is investigating options with a potential for moving forward in September 2020, although no decisions have been made yet.
