Robertson provided the following account:

On Feb. 4, at about 3:12 p.m., Bridgewater Township Police were called to Washington Avenue because of a report of a suspicious male in the area. Police were given a description which matched the description of someone suspected in some home and vehicle burglaries in the area.

Police saw a known stolen vehicle traveling west on Hillcrest Road at a high rate of speed. Officers saw the car being driven by a man who matched the description of the man described on Washington Avenue.

Police pursued the vehicle, but the driver refused to pull over, and continued to flee, and driving erratically and at a high rate of speed. Police halted their pursuit on Washington Valley Road, and a follow-up investigation identified the suspect as Hill.

On Feb. 5, at about 4:43 p.m., Franklin Township Police came across the stolen motor vehicle from the previous day's pursuit on Parkside Street and began a surveillance and notified Bridgewater police.

Officers saw Hill enter the stolen vehicle, and they attempted to stop him, but he refused and fled the area, disobeying traffic stop signs. Safety concerns forced Franklin police to end their pursuit as the stolen vehicle traveled northbound on Route 27.

Robertson said police are searching for Hill, and are seeking the public's assistance. Members of the public should not approach, but should contact law enforcement immediately if they come into contact with him or know where he is.

On Feb. 6, Robertson said, the stolen motor vehicle was found by New Brunswick Police.
